Meet Your Planner.jpg

My name is Kandice, I am the owner of By Your Side Events. I have been working in the event industry for over 10 years, starting out as event staff for Beacon Hill Catering in Spokane, WA. There, I quickly moved into leadership roles, and discovered my passion for coordinating weddings! As Beacon Hill's Wedding and Event Manager, I planned and coordinated over 250 weddings and countless non-wedding events. In Spring of 2022, I started my own event planning business and have independently planned and/or coordinated 30 weddings and counting.

I thrive in stressful environments and pride myself on my problem-solving and detailed planning skills. On wedding day I make sure my couples are blissfully unaware of any issues, allowing them to focus on one another and savor each moment. The only question I want to be asking them is, “Can I get you another drink?”

Weddings are the primary focus of my business, but I love planning all types of events. Fundraisers hold a special place in my heart. My husband and I started the Washington State Chapter of a national non-profit foundation, raising awareness and funds for a brain condition that our son lives with. I lead the planning of an annual fundraiser, raising an average of $10,000 and bringing in 300-400 attendees each year.

I am a business owner and wedding planner, but above all, a wife and mommy. My family is my everything and the driving force behind starting my own business. My husband and I are going on fourteen years of marriage and we have two very active boys. We love camping, fishing, playing baseball, swimming, just about anything outdoors. When we aren’t outside, you can find us snuggled up on the couch watching super hero movies or playing board games.

I am a sucker for a good romance novel, but wish I had more time to read. I would rather go camping in a tent than stay in a fancy hotel. I could eat breakfast food every meal of the day. I can jumpstart a car and change a tire, but the extent of my sewing skills are sewing on a button. So, if you get a flat tire or lose a button on your wedding day, I’m your gal! I'd love the opportunity to plan your wedding and can't wait to hear from you.
